About Us
The Johannesburg Homelessness Network (JHN) assists homeless people to find sustainable pathways out of homelessness. We provide solutions mainly through Drop-In Centers and Skills Development and Employment
Drop-in Centers
We have a Drop-in Centre in Randburg, which operates 5 days per week (working days only), and another in Greymont, which operates once a week. With your support, we would/roll out more Drop-In Centers
These are facilities where people who are still on their journey out of homelessness “drop-in” and take showers, change clothes, use laundry and ablution facilities, and access social work services including:

Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Referral Service – we refer victims to drug rehabilitation centers and to out-patient services at local clinics.
Temporary Material assistance – We conduct soup kitchens – serving breakfast and early afternoon supper – during weekdays. Based on donor stock availability, we also distribute blankets, clothing, and other goods to homeless people who are still on the journey to self-sufficiency.
Skills Development and Employment
We equip homeless people with vegetable gardening skills and employ them in our four urban vegetable gardens. We also assist homeless job-seekers to prepare CVs so they can increase their chances of finding jobs in various sectors of the economy.
